MadVPN Review – Privacy Service That Offers Dedicated IPs

Wednesday, November 26th, 2014

MadVPN is an IT service provider which offers proxy and VPN accounts to home and business users. The company has been around since 2007 and it specializes in providing wholesale VPN accounts for enterprise use. In this MadVPN review, let us check what MadVPN has to offer and decide if the service is worth using.

Server Locations & Site Access

MadVPN has gateways in the following 12 countries:

Canada, United Kingdom, France, United States, Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Czech Republic, Poland, Belgium, Italy and Spain.

The service is tailor made for unlocking streaming services that are available only in the above 12 countries. Once you are connected to a MadVPN server, you would be able to access services like Hulu, Rai TV, BBC iPlayer, Eurosport, Deezer, E!, ProSieben, Global TV, Arte, USA Network, Amazon Prime, Canal+, Rara, Vevo, CWTV, Sky Go, Xfinity, Spotify, City TV, ABC, Lovefilm, Demand 5, CTV, Direct 8, Das Erste, NHL, Much Music, Vudu, Pluzz, RTL, CBC, Pandora, iTV, MLB, HBO Go, MTV, TNT, Netflix, 4OD, NBC, FOX and CBS from any region in the world. The service can even assist you in unblocking VOIP services (Skype, Facetime, Viber), social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter) and email services (Gmail) even if they are blocked by local ISPs (as it happens in China, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Brazil, Thailand and Bahrain).

MadVPN offers only dedicated VPN plans so it is not possible to switch servers or access local content from more than one country.

VPN Speed & Bandwidth

MadVPN offers only metered plans for home users (unmetered bandwidth is available with wholesale enterprise plans). However, the service can be used for demanding activities like streaming, VOIP, downloading and gaming since there are no upper caps on speeds.

Privacy Settings

MadVPN supports common VPN protocols like PPTP, L2TP/IPSec and OpenVPN. This makes it easy to configure the service on a variety of devices plus it also allows you to choose a privacy level as per your needs (a minimum of 128 bit encryption is available with every protocol). The service can be used to hide your online activities from ISPs plus it also provides a layer of security that protects your socials accounts and financial data from eavesdroppers, identity thieves and hackers.

MadVPN has not published a privacy policy on its website. It is safe to assume that the provider is logging usage data (but not the actual traffic) and it will co-operate with law enforcement agencies when served with a court notice.

Supported Operating Systems

MadVPN works with most desktop and mobile systems like Windows, Mac, Linux, iPads, Android and iPhones. Since the provider does not offer its own client, the setup needs to be done manually. However, the provider has recommended certain tools that can be used to ease the configuration process. For enterprise users, the provider offers an admin panel and numerous add-on options.

Customer Support

MadVPN provides customer support through Skype, email and phone (10:00-22:30 GMT+8).

Pricing Options

MadVPN’s subscription price is different for different gateways. For instance, the company’s US VPN plan for home users (with 1 dedicated US IP, 5 GB traffic limit) costs $12 a month. For other locations, the price for home VPN plan varies from $14 to $49 per month. Business VPN plans with multiple VPN accounts (and IPs) and significantly higher bandwidth limits are also available for all gateway locations. Unfortunately, there are no free trials available so you need to spend some money in order to test the service.

Final Verdict

Overall, MadVPN does not disappoint with its VPN. However, the service does come with some limitations (restricted bandwidth, not possible to access servers from multiple countries) so it may not appeal to everyone. We recommend subscribing to the service in case you are looking for a VPN solution that offers dedicated IPs. For more information, please visit: www.madvpn.com.
