Hollywood Game Night is a reality game show which premiered in July’ 2013. The series was created by Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner for the NBC network and is presented by Jane Lynch. Hollywood Game Night has received a positive response from the viewers (IMDB rating of 6.9) and the series was also renewed for a second season which is set to air in 2014.

Hollywood Game Night Plot

Hollywood Game Night consists of two teams whose members participate in a number of activities and try to win the game by scoring maximum number of points. Each team consists of four contestants, one civilian and three celebrities, and the civilian player is nominated as the captain of the team. While the civilians play for a chance to win $25,000, the celebrities from the winning team get $10,000 for a charity organization of their choice. The games included in the show are pretty entertaining and the show even includes a bonus round (Celebrity name game) where the contestants can win additional prize money by guessing the names of the celebrities correctly.

Hollywood Game Night Broadcast And Availability

During its first season, Hollywood Game Night was telecast on Thursday nights at 10 P.M. on the NBC channel. The full episodes of the show are also made available online through the NBC website (nbc.com/hollywood-game-night). However, due to content licensing restrictions, the online episodes of Hollywood Game Night are only available to US residents. When international visitors (viewers with a non-US IP address) try to access the series’ episodes online, they get redirected to a “Content Unavailable” page which displays the following message – “We’re sorry, but the clip you selected isn’t available from your location. Please select another clip”.

How NBC Blocks Hollywood Game Night Online

It is not unusual for content providers like NBC to partner with international TV channels to distribute their shows (such as Hollywood Game Night) abroad. When content providers sign content sharing agreements for a show, they transfer the broadcasting rights to their partners and lose the rights to broadcast the show in specific territories. To enforce the content sharing terms for Hollywood Game Night, NBC needs to check the IP address of its visitors and only allow people with US IP address to access the show’s episodes. Even expats and US tourists who are abroad are not exempted from this rule and get redirected to the “Content Unavailable” page whenever they try to access the series’ episodes online.

In order to unlock Hollywood Game Night from overseas, it is absolutely essential to switch to a US IP address so that NBC “thinks” that you are accessing the show from within US. This can be done by using an IP changing service like a proxy or a VPN that can provide a US IP address at very affordable rates. When compared head-to-head, VPNs offer far more benefits (such as better speeds and privacy) which make them more suitable for unblocking streaming shows online.

How To Unlock Hollywood Game Night From Abroad With A VPN

Step 1: Subscribe to a US VPN service that offers fast speeds and unlimited bandwidth. For unblocking Hollywood Game Night, we recommend signing up with a reputed VPN provider like HideMyAss, Kepard, IPVanish, VyprVPN or proXPN.

Step 2: The next step is to configure the service on your computer or mobile device. The setup can be done either manually or by installing the client provided by the VPN vendor. A lot of VPN providers offer custom clients just for Windows OS so you will need to configure the service manually on your mobile device or Mac/Linux based computer.

Step 3: Save the network connection details in order to complete the setup process. For custom installations, it is also necessary to reboot the system. Also, remember to close and restart the NBC app on your Smartphone or tablet so that it can use the latest networking parameters.

Step 4: Double click on the desktop icon of the VPN service (or click on the connection name in the start menu) to connect to the service. The connection time would depend on your existing internet speed and the distance of the server from your current location so you may have to wait for few minutes while the service connects to the server.

Step 5: Once the connection is successfully established, verify whether the IP address allocated to you is from within US. In case the new IP address is still not from US, browse through the list of available US VPN servers and choose a US server located nearest to your address as your VPN server. This step is not required if you configured the service manually since you would automatically get connected to the US server that you specified during the setup process.

Step 6: Open the Hollywood Game Night page on the NBC website through browser or app. Click on the episode names in order to unlock them and also remember to close and restart the NBC app on your mobile device to unlock the episodes from your Smartphone or tablet. You should now be able to watch full episodes of Hollywood Game Night from every country in the world.
